Revolutionizing Dubai’s Start-Up Scene with IN5 Science
Dubai’s renowned start-up incubator, IN5, has unveiled a new science-focused division called IN5 Science in collaboration with Dubai Science Park. This groundbreaking endeavour celebrates IN5’s ten-year milestone and aims to foster entrepreneurship and investment for science-based start-ups in Dubai. The launch of IN5 Science perfectly aligns with the UAE’s strong commitment to sustainability and its support of strategic government agendas such as Road to Net Zero by 2050, COP28, We the UAE 2031, and the National Food Security Strategy.
IN5 already operates three specialized centres in Dubai, catering to technology, media, and design ventures. The addition of the science vertical expands its offerings and addresses emerging economic prospects within the science sector. To ensure the success of IN5 Science, an esteemed advisory board has been assembled, comprising industry leaders from Nexus Resilience Group, Dii Desert Energy, and GMEX Group.
Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Media City, expressed his pride in IN5’s contribution to promoting Dubai’s start-up ecosystem and economic diversification endeavours. The introduction of the science vertical enhances the support and opportunities available to entrepreneurs, solidifying Dubai’s status as a global business hub.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Science Park, emphasized the significance of science in Dubai’s growing economy, particularly in areas like sustainability, healthcare, and research and development. IN5 Science will empower entrepreneurs by connecting them with a top-tier community of researchers and industry leaders, injecting innovation and competitiveness into the UAE’s scientific ambitions.

Moreover, IN5 Science will organize networking events, panel discussions, and educational forums led by influential figures in the science industry. Collaborating with Dubai Science Park grants IN5 access to a global ecosystem of multinational enterprises (MNEs) and regional small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, energy, environment, and research and development, fostering partnership opportunities and specialized facilities.
The UAE has been investing heavily in the development of its science and technology sectors, driven by a comprehensive economic diversification plan and the growing demand for specialized healthcare and sustainable practices in the region. Dubai has emerged as a leading destination for medical tourism and is actively focusing on advanced manufacturing, economic growth, and food security. Over the past decade, IN5 has witnessed remarkable growth in science-focused tech start-ups, and the establishment of the science vertical aims to provide tailored support and infrastructure to these new businesses.
Notable start-ups that have already received support from IN5 include We4Recycle, a waste segregation mobile app; Greener Crop, a vertical farming enterprise; Air to MC2, a deep-tech start-up revolutionizing cooling and heating systems; Sentient Labs, utilizing advanced technologies for sea clean-up; and RelphaCare Technologies, a social healthcare tracking platform.
Since its inception in 2013, IN5 has served as a launchpad for technology, media, and design start-ups, offering invaluable advisory services, mentorship, and investment opportunities. With a portfolio encompassing over 750 supported start-ups and entrepreneurs from more than 50 countries, IN5 has played a pivotal role in Dubai’s entrepreneurial growth. The initiative is part of TECOM Group portfolio, which includes various value-added platforms and business districts throughout Dubai.
